Export SSH keys

Export the contents of your SSH keys and store them in keyfiles, to have a backup of your keys or to share your public key with someone.

To export your public SSH key:

  1. Select the OpenSSH keys keyring from the left side panel.

  2. Select the Personal SSH key, that has to be exported, from the list.

  3. Select File ▸ Export….

  4. Press the Export button to save the exported public key on your computer.

To export your private SSH key:

  1. Select the OpenSSH keys keyring from the left side panel.

  2. Select the Personal SSH key, that has to be exported, from the list.

  3. Right click on the selected key and select Properties ▸ Details.

  4. Press the Export Private Key button to save the exported private key on your computer.

Keep the exported private key file in a safe location, since the contents of the file must be kept private, to prevent misuse of your key.
