You can copy and paste text in Terminal in a similar way to other applications. However, the keyboard shortcuts differ.
Highlight the text portions you wish to copy, then select Edit ▸ Copy. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+Shift+C.
Right click in the Terminal and select Paste. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+Shift+V.
The standard keyboard shortcuts, such as Ctrl+C, cannot be used to copy and paste text.
